Goobang National Park is located 30 kilometres north-east of Parks in central west NSW. It is approximately 42,600 hectares in size, 55 kilometres long and
ranges in width from 200 metres to 20 kilometres.
The park includes the Herveys, Currumbenya and Bumberry Mountian Ranges and surrounding valleys.
Goobang National Park is the largest remnant forest and woodland in central west NSW. The park contains a diversity of vegetation types which have the
potential to support a large number of native animals.
Over 300 plant species have been recorded in the park, including 40 species of orchids. Access to Goobang National Park may be reached from
a number of roads, including the Tomingley-Yeoval Road in the north, the Parkes-Manilda Road in the south and from Peak Hill along the Baldry
Roads in the centre.
Visitors to the park can enjoy bushwalking, picnicking, camping, photography, bird watching and nature study.
At the present there are only facilities at Greenbah Creek & Wanda Wandong areas, although possible new facilities may include a camping area and walking tracks at other locations.
